Meet Sarah Vernlund

Sarah Vernlund and Tom Hall established Highland Stable in 1992, to provide a safe and comfortable environment for horseback riding. The covered lighted arena is usable in all weather conditions. Our electronic gate ensures safety for horses and children.

Sarah Vernlund has been a full-time instructor since 1980. Sarah attained the USEA Certified Instructor, Level II. She has extensive teaching experience in competitive dressage and eventing, and has a Masters Degree with a minor in Adult and Extension Education. A competitive rider since the mid 1970’s, Sarah has competed in eventing at the Advance level and has earned the USDF Bronze medal. Sarah was selected to train with the USET combined training team in the 1980’s. She has trained and shown Novice through Advanced eventing horses to national awards.

Highland Stable reflects her knowledge of how entry level riders can build basics for a lifetime enjoyment of equestrian activities.  The vision for Highland Stable is a commitment to providing an entry for new riders into the equestrian world through Highland Stable.

The goal of safety knowledge, horsemanship, solid riding basics, and enjoyment are the focus for our youth and their families at Highland Stable.
